MainStreet Fremont, Inc. has established an Incentive Grant Program to provide financial assistance to new and existing businesses located within the Downtown Improvement District of Fremont. The grant may be used for outside renovations such as signage, painting, awnings and any improvement that enhances the property and conforms to the historic nature of the district. Projects must also conform to applicable City ordinances.
The grant will be used for approved façade improvements consistent with the historic look of downtown Fremont that MainStreet Fremont is trying to promote and maintain.

The maximum grant award will be $750, which must be matched by a ratio of 3:1 MSF/Applicant. For example, an approved project of $1000 will consist of a $750 MSF and $250 applicant contribution. Projects over $1000 will still be subject to the $750 maximum award.
The applicant must submit the request prior to the start of the project, with a description of the renovations that will be done along with an estimate of the costs.
