Color the Core

Join us for Color the Core, a family-friendly chalk art festival in Downtown Fremont, Nebraska. Artists ages 8 & up will transform Main Street sidewalks into colorful works of art inspired by this year's theme, America the Beautiful. Spend the day exploring downtown businesses, enjoying local entertainment, supporting artists, and experiencing one of Fremont's most creative summer events.

Whether you're an artist, business owner, volunteer, or visitor, there's a place for you at Color the Core.

America the Beautiful

The 2026 Color the Core theme is America the Beautiful, celebrating the landscapes, communities, people, and traditions that make our country unique as we commemorate America 250.

Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme in their own creative way. From natural wonders and hometown pride to historical moments and patriotic imagery, we can't wait to see Downtown Fremont come alive with color and creativity.

Shop, Eat & Explore Downtown Fremont

Color the Core is more than a chalk art competition—it's a chance to experience everything Downtown Fremont has to offer.

As artists create their sidewalk masterpieces throughout the day, visitors are encouraged to shop local boutiques, enjoy a meal at one of our restaurants, discover unique gifts, and support participating businesses hosting special events, demonstrations, musicians, pop-ups, and promotions.

Make a day of it in Downtown Fremont and help support the businesses that make our community vibrant.
